LXG

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (LXG) is a remarkable work. The amount of research behind it, and the casual way in which literary references are bandied about are extremely entertaining.

It would be impossible to fully plumb the depths of this book any better than Jess Nevins has in his book, Heroes & Monsters: The Unofficial Companion to the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen , but I would like to at least try to scratch the surface.

This site is aimed mainly at exploring the origins of the characters that appear in LXG, but I will try to offer a bit of my own interpretations as the situation warrants. The one character that is noticeably absent is that of Campion Bond - there appears to be no single source for his inspiration, so I left him out entirely.
